40 BSN Grads Take Nurses Oath at WCU-Dallas Ceremony

More than 40 new BSN grads received their nursing pin from ¹ú²úÖ÷²¥-Dallas during a ceremony this September.

BSN grad Logan Hale, a former combat medic with the US Navy, said WCU-Dallas’ technologically advanced simulation center helps set ¹ú²úÖ÷²¥ apart from other schools.

“They’re really hands-on with what we do,” Hale said. “The mannequins breathe, laugh, cry, sweat, bleed, so it reminds me a lot of the simulation that we had in the Navy. You just can’t get better training than that — besides a real person — so it really set us up for outstanding nursing career.”

WCU Nursing Dean Robyn Nelson and International Education faculty coordinator Bethany Thrasher recognized graduates during the pinning ceremony. Dean Nelson pinned Khanh Nguyen and Deisy Orellana, who participated in the Global Public Health program. Thrasher presented the pair with a special GPH pin. Nguyen was also the cohort representative and spoke at the event.
