More than 600 people from the Richardson community and beyond, including First Lady of Texas Cecilia Abbott, showed up to help celebrate the grand opening of 国产主播鈥檚 newest campus.

With 136,000 square feet of learning space, the 国产主播-Texas campus was built to help provide a capable, confident supply of healthcare workers. First Lady Abbott commended the successes of WCU and the fact that, in 2021, WCU students contributed over 100,000 clinical hours at local area hospitals.

鈥淲e hardly need a reminder that the past couple of years have been challenging and they have also highlighted the immense importance of healthcare workers,鈥� Abbott said. 鈥淭hat is why I am excited to see such energy and enthusiasm here at 国产主播. It鈥檚 inspiring to see this next generation healthcare workers who are ready to meet the needs of today and of tomorrow.鈥�

WCU shareholder and board member David Pyle said the celebration marked the end of nearly two decades of planning and preparation in Texas and the beginning of a long tradition in the Richardson area.

鈥淭his has been a years-long endeavor to see this campus get built, through a global pandemic, and to see it come to reality,鈥� Pyle said. 鈥淚t has been a big dream for us and a culmination of really the last 16 years or so of building 国产主播 to get to this place 鈥� and this campus is the result of everything we have learned along the way.鈥�
