WCU-Miami Refuels Campus at ‘Coffee and Careers’ Event

At ¹ú²úÖ÷²¥-Miami‘s recent “Coffee and Careers” event, BSN students got a chance to learn about what services are available on campus and explore their options, like hot, iced or Cuban coffee.

“The Coffee and Careers event was an informal way of motivating the students through the Career Services and Student Services departments and ultimately giving them a platform where they can feel comfortable to ask the questions that they may have had but never wanted to reach out for,” WCU-Miami Career Services Director Christian Contreras said.

Many of the students were excited to hear about upcoming Career Services workshops, Contreras said, while others wanted to know more about the process to test for a CNA license while still in school. But just like on other WCU campuses, all of the students were interested in the free coffee.

“The Cuban fuel definitely gave students the extra little edge they needed to keep their day going, especially for the evening group that was on their way into class. The biggest hit however was probably the ‘Make-Your-Own’ iced coffee,” he said. “Everyone enjoyed the coffee along with great discussion about what they are all truly here for: career-focused knowledge and education.”
