WCU Alumni Network Hits a Home Run at Freeway Series Networking Event

More than 20 国产主播 alumni enjoyed watching the Angels play the Dodgers this July at a mixer organized by the WCU Alumni Network.

The alumni gathered in front of Angel Stadium on July 9 decked out in their favorite team鈥檚 apparel for the final game of the Freeway Series. The WCU group was not afraid of a little friendly rivalry with about half of the group in opposing jerseys as they entered the stadium. Event host Lizbeth Gonzalez led her fellow WCU alumni and their loved ones up into the stands to snack on hot dogs and nachos with a perfect view of the field.

鈥淎nyone who hasn’t been to an alumni event, they should definitely try to make it to the next one. Alumni events are always so much fun and it allows you the opportunity to meet new people and network,鈥 Gonzalez said. 鈥淚 love what I do, but being a new nurse can sometimes be extremely exhausting and overwhelming I feel having the opportunity to have an outlet and be able to interact and have fun with other nurses who might be going through the same is so great. I definitely try my best to make it to as many events as I can.鈥

These events are a great opportunity to network with fellow WCU graduates. Adriana Lopez was excited to interact with her fellow WCU alumni because she always finds new job opportunities and tips for interviews.

鈥淭he game was great, the crowd was amazing, and it鈥檚 all thanks to the wonderful Alumni Relations team. These events not only give me the opportunity to take a break from work, but they also give me the opportunity to mingle with graduates that were once in my shoes and now work in departments that I wish to work at,鈥 Lopez said. 鈥淭hank you WCU for giving us the opportunity to continue benefiting from our nursing school! #WCUproud.鈥
