Career Services Hosts First 鈥楥offee and Careers鈥 for WCU MHA and MPH Online Students and Alumni

More than 30 students flooded the lobby of 国产主播鈥檚 Center for Graduate Studies to attend the inaugural “Coffee and Careers” event for online students and doctorate programs.

鈥淲hen Career Services emailed me about today I was really excited to join because there were a lot of companies that weren鈥檛 here during previous career fairs,鈥 WCU student Raymond Sator said. 鈥淭his time it鈥檚 more geared towards Master of Public Health and Master of Health Administration. This time the organizers really focused on us.鈥

To help the MHA and MHP students and graduates prepare for any upcoming job interviews, the day started with a surprise practice job interview hosted by WCU-Online Career Services and Dr. Justin Ako, MHA program dean. The panel of students and associates provided a positive environment for feedback and tips to remember for their next interview.

After the practice session, students and graduates were greeted by six employers ready to offer advice and talk about their available opportunities. Organizations such as Ensign Services, COPE Health Scholars, Healthcare Executives of Southern California and the U.S. Navy were in attendance for the June event.

鈥淭he interviews caught me off guard a little bit,鈥 WCU MHA student Terrivio Nevarez Merritt said with a laugh as he left the panel session. 鈥淔or me personally, I like to interview because I get to interview them as well. I got some really great feedback from them and it was a great opportunity to learn about myself.鈥
