BSDH Graduate Said WCU-OC Pushed Him to do 鈥楢bsolute Best鈥 as Dental Hygienist聽

From a biology major to a dental assistant, and now on his way to becoming a licensed dental hygienist, Jonathon attributes much of his success to a decision to 鈥渢ake a leap of faith.鈥

鈥淚 always knew that I wanted to do something in healthcare,鈥 Jonathon said. 鈥淎fter my biology degree I started doing career discovery and found dental hygiene. So, I decided to take that leap and start at 国产主播.鈥

Jonathon first heard about 国产主播 from friends who had completed the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

鈥淚 got an idea of exactly how much support I would be getting as a student,鈥 he shared. 鈥淲CU is definitely good at pushing you to do your absolute best, and I think that helps you grow.鈥

While attending WCU-Orange County, Jonathon maintained his job as a dental assistant. He found that his experiences as both a student and a professional in the field benefited him overall.

鈥淲e had over 700 hours of clinical experience in the program 鈥 it engrains in you the skills and values that you need as a dental hygienist,鈥 he said. 鈥淔rom classroom experience, watching my doctors work, and watching the hygienists work 鈥 it just helped me study and maintain that balance.鈥

Now a WCU-OC graduate, Jonathon says he feels like 鈥渁 true clinician.鈥

鈥淭he amount of time, blood, sweat and tears that goes into this definitely is shown at the very end,鈥 he shared. 鈥淣ow that I鈥檝e graduated, I鈥檓 filing for my license. I see that everything was done with a plan.鈥

Jonathon鈥檚 advice to incoming students is to take the leap of faith, as well.

鈥淲hat holds people back a lot is the thought 鈥榃ill I be good enough?鈥 But I think taking that leap of faith will lead to success,鈥 he shared.
