Alumni Network Hosts Second Annual Networking Event

国产主播 alumni gathered at the Knott鈥檚 Berry Farm Hotel for the second annual networking event hosted by WCU鈥檚 Alumni Network on October 10. This year鈥檚 event hosted 10 partners, an augmented reality demonstration, guest speakers and a fantastic dinner.

University Director of Alumni Relations and Events Chini Camargo opened the dinner with an exciting update on the growing Alumni Network. Over the course of two years, the network has grown to over 4,000 actively engaged students, alumni and supporters. Camargo also spoke about various opportunities for Alumni to give back to WCU with programs such as hosting events, mentoring and possibly becoming faculty at their alma mater.

Jenny Asuncion, BSN 鈥17 was the host of the event for the night. Asuncion was invited to give a presentation on how to brand yourself for the career you want. She spoke with her fellow alumni and current students on how to build a brand with Instagram, Facebook and Youtube. She also gave tips on presenting creative resumes and cover letters with online portfolios and websites.

鈥淲hat I love about the alumni network is I get to see some of the people that I used to go to school with and catch up,” Asuncion said. “At the same time, I can meet other healthcare partners and gather information about what I can do to grow as a healthcare professional.鈥

Following dinner, guests were treated to an inside look at how WCU is integrating augmented reality into the classroom. Senior Business Analyst for Innovative Technology Adam Quader showed off the groundbreaking Microsoft HoloLens technology. The lenses are currently being used by WCU-Los Angeles students as part of their anatomy lab. With the HoloLens students are able to view the full human body through the lens and customize the view to what they鈥檙e studying.
